I’m so excited to start this year off with a project that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time – simply entitled Inspired. Please join me and support the creation of this new musical adventure. I teamed up with Artist Share to help me bring this project to life.
Tom Harrell’s First Impressions picked as one of the best albums in 2015 by DownBeat Magazine. Very proud to be part of this group – congrats Tom and fellow impressionists!
Happy birthday to the master Jim Hall! He would have been 85 . Steve LaSpina and myself performed in a duo setting, paying tribute to this great artist. Here are some photos from the evening (by Roger Sadowsky).

I’m thrilled to be the part of Tom Harrell‘s brand new album “First Impressions” featuring a fantastic group of musicians and some of the most beautiful music I’ve played. We’ll be performing some of the music at the Village Vanguard Oct 6-11. The album is out today, make sure to get your copy:

I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be playing Sadowsky new thin archtop guitar, model SS-15. It’s a remarkable, beautifully crafted guitar – you can find out more about it at https://sadowsky.com. Special thank you to Roger Sadowsky for his great work and dedication!
This coming Monday, March 23rd, I’ll be previewing some of the new music with another great lineup of musicians at Whynot Jazz Room. I’ll be joined by Nitzan Gavrieli on Fender rhodes, Corcoran Holt on bass and McClenty Hunter on drums. The seating is very limited so please make your reservation online at http://www.whynotjazzroom.com/program/2015/3/10/rale-micic-quartet
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Earlier this month I was in studio with Alma Micic, mixing her brand new album that we recorded in December. Alma did some outstanding interpretations with a fantastic new band that includes vibes, guitar, bass and drums. What a thrill to be producing this album and being a part of this project.
In January I had a pleasure of recording all new material for an upcoming album with a new quartet featuring Danny Grissett on piano and rhodes, Corcoran Holt on bass and Johnathan Blake on drums. We had a great time at David Stoller’s Samurai Hotel Studios and I’m really looking forward to sharing this music with you!
